A betting shop on the Antrim Road in Belfast has been robbed at gunpoint.

A police spokesperson said that the PSNI had received a report that a man armed with what appeared to be a handgun had entered the betting shop close to Duncairn Avenue on Thursday.

The man demanded cash from a female member of staff and escaped on foot with a sum of money.

The thief was wearing a grey hooded jacket and tracksuit trousers with stripes along the side.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
