Woman held after lorry hits eight cars in east Belfast

A woman in her 40s has been arrested after eight cars and a set of traffic lights were damaged by a lorry in east Belfast on Sunday night.

Police said the lorry, which had been parked in Sugarfield Street, first hit a car on the Newtownards Road.

Three cars were damaged in Kerrsland Crescent, two more on the Newtownards Road, one at Holywood Arches and a car and traffic lights at Frederick Street.

The lorry then struck a wall on the Albertbridge Road.

The incident was reported shortly after 1920 GMT.

The woman has been released pending further enquiries.
