Police are appealing for information following the release of a man after he was kidnapped in County Antrim on Thursday night.

Several abductors took the man, said to be in his 30s, from his Randalstown home in his own silver BMW car, and demanded a ransom from his family.

It is not known if any money was handed over for his release.

The man was then set free at around 0100GMT on Friday near Armoy, where he raised the alarm at a nearby house.

A burnt out car has been found in Mosside near Ballycastle and police are trying to establish if it is connected to the kidnapping.
