Belfast man pleads guilty to possessing child porn

A 49-year-old west Belfast man whose home was targeted by arsonists, has been put on the Sex Offenders' Register after pleading guilty to charges involving internet child pornography.

Belfast Crown Court heard Donald Andrew Brown of St Lukes Walk is now living at an address known to and approved by police.

Brown admitted a total of 21 charges involving the making and possession of indecent images of children between July 2008 and May last year.

Judge Tom Burgess, who freed Brown on continuing bail said the 70 images involved not only stills, but also video files.

The court also heard that in addition to any pre-sentence report, from the Probation Service, Brown will also be seen by a psychiatrist.

As part of his extended bail, any change of address suggested by Brown, must first be approved by the authorities.
