Man injured in Poleglass attack

A 43-year-old man has been treated in hospital after being attacked in Poleglass on the outskirts of west Belfast.

Police said it was reported at 0045 BST on Sunday that a man armed with a knife and a hammer had forced his way into a house at Laurelbank and assaulted another man. A 23-year-old man has been arrested.

The victim sustained a head wound and a number of cuts and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A number of other people who were in the house at the time of the incident suffered minor injuries.
