Garvagh school - 90 windows smashed in vandalism attack
Vandals have smashed 90 windows at a school in a County Londonderry village.
Garvagh High School on Main Street was attacked between 1530 BST on Friday and 1000 BST on Saturday morning.
Acting Principal Jim Wilkins said it was "very disappointing" to see the damage that had been caused to the school.
"Just last week we were celebrating the success of our pupils in their GCSE exams, - they had performed so very well," he said.
Mr Wilkins said the caretaker telephoned him on Saturday morning to tell him about the broken windows.
"I went to the school and we counted between 70 and 90 windows," he said.
A clean-up operation is under way to prepare the school for the new intake of first year pupils, due to arrive on Tuesday.
He said he did not know who was responsible for such an attack.
Detectives in Coleraine are investigating. They have appealed for anyone who witnessed the vandalism, or has any information about it, to contact them.
