Two in court over attempted murder in west Belfast
Two men have been remanded in custody charged with the attempted murder of a man stabbed in the head in west Belfast.
Malachy Keenan, 44, of Colinmill, Dunmurry, and John Carville, 39, from Brooke Close, Belfast, appeared in court over Thursday's attack.
Mr Carville faces a second charge of possessing a knife in a public place.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was stabbed a number of times outside his flat on Lenadoon Avenue.
A police constable who said he believed he could connect both suspects with the charges, told Belfast Magistrates Court that Mr Carville gave a full account during interviews.
The officer also confirmed that Mr Carville had claimed he had gone to the aid of his cousin.
Neither of the accused applied for bail.
They were both remanded in custody to appear again by video-link next week.
