Teenager charged with rioting in city

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with riotous behaviour following investigations into trouble over the Twelfth of July period.

It is understood the charge is in relation to disorder in the lower Ormeau Road area of Belfast on 12 July.

The teenager is expected to appear before Belfast Youth Court on 3 September.

There were several nights of rioting in some nationalist areas following a disputed Orange Order parade past the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.

Around 30 people have been charged with offences relating to the rioting.
