Police get more time to question Castledawson suspect

Detectives have been given more time to question a man arrested over the murder of Michael McLaughlin in Castledawson on Sunday night.

The 24-year-old was stabbed to death during a housewarming party at a flat on the Hillhead Road.

Police said a motive for the attack is still under investigation.

A man in his 20s was arrested nearby and on Tuesday morning detectives were granted an additional 36 hours to question him.
