Woman faces hospital hammer charges

A woman has appeared in court accused of being armed with a hammer and causing criminal damage to a window of Whiteabbey Hospital.

Sharon Ferguson, 45, faces further charges of assault and disorderly behaviour, a judge was told.

The offences are alleged to have been committed last month.

Ms Ferguson, of Kings Avenue, Newtownabbey, spoke to confirm she understood the charges during a hearing at Belfast Magistrates Court.

A police officer said he could connect her with all of the alleged offences.

She was remanded on bail to appear again later this month.
