BBC Radio York presenter Jericho Keys fined for assault

A BBC Radio York presenter has been fined after pleading guilty to an assault at a bar in the city centre.

Jericho Keys, 26, of Waverley Street, York, admitted one charge of assault by beating after the incident at Stonebow in the early hours of 20 December.

He was fined £115 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation as well as other costs totalling £105.

The 26-year-old, who has also worked for the BBC's Radio 1 station, remains suspended by the corporation.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: "It was made clear in court that Jericho is very remorseful about what happened.

"He remains suspended and we will discuss his future with him in due course."
