CCTV images of a man who has been missing for more than a week following a night out have been released as a major search for him continues.

Rory Johnson-Hatfield, 29, from Skipton, was last seen in York in the early hours of Friday, 20 November.

New images show him in Tower Street at around 00:39 GMT and in the City Mills area at 00:47.

Officers have been searching the River Ouse and are working to establish the last the pub he visited.

Mr Johnson-Hatfield, who is described as being white, of slim build, with short, blonde hair, had been at the The Postern Gate pub with a friend at 23:30 on Thursday, 19 November.

They returned to the York Central Travelodge on Piccadilly together but Mr Johnson-Hatfield then left and went to a pub with a fellow hotel guest.

He did not return and failed to arrive at work in Skipton on Friday evening.

One line of inquiry has focussed on whether he got into difficulty whilst walking near the river on the way back to the hotel.

Supt Adam Thomson, of North Yorkshire Police, said underwater search teams had used sonar equipment to check the river from just above the City Mills area, where he was last seen, along the Ouse to Naburn Marina.

He said: "We must stress that the recent river searches are just one part of our inquiry and we ask people not to close their minds to other possibilities."

The officer also appealed for anyone who has private CCTV in the City Mills area that police may not be aware of to contact them.
