North Yorkshire pilot Andrew Wright admits £5m cocaine charge

A pilot has admitted trying to smuggle cocaine worth £5m into the UK using a North Yorkshire airfield.

Andrew Wright, 51, of Park Lane, Barlow, near Selby, was arrested after 34kg of the drug was found on a light aircraft at Breighton Aerodrome, near Selby, in November.

The National Crime Agency said the seizure was "significant".

Wright appeared at Leeds Crown Court and was remanded in custody to be sentenced on 30 March 2015.
