Woman critical after 150m car plunge near Pickering

A woman is in a critical condition after the car she was driving plunged 150m down an embankment near Pickering.

The 57-year-old from Coventry was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough following the incident on Friday afternoon.

Two passengers, a boy and a girl, were also taken to hospital with injuries.

North Yorkshire Police said the car left the A169 and dropped down Saltergate Bank before stopping by a tree.
