Yorkshire Dales countryside trail wins cash boost
A 38-mile trail that winds through the Yorkshire Dales has received a cash boost to help with maintenance costs.
North Yorkshire County Council will carry out work on the Six Dales Trail after receiving a £2,000 donation.
The money from the Walkers are Welcome group in Otley, will go towards improving gates and stiles.
The countryside trek, which stretches between Otley in West Yorkshire and Wensleydale in North Yorkshire, opened in 2010.
Councillor Chris Metcalfe said: "It is very heartening to be able to keep up the good work on such a highly-valued amenity with the aid of funding support from voluntary groups like this."
