A motorbike rider who died in a head-on crash with a car in North Yorkshire has been named by police.

Darrell Wood, 48, from Breighton, near Selby, was killed at about 18:30 BST on 8 August, at the junction of Main Street and the A163 in North Duffield.

He was heading towards Market Weighton on a green Kawasaki bike, when he was in collision with a blue BMW travelling in the opposite direction.

Police have repeated calls for witnesses to come forward.

Traffic constable Paul Stamp said it was likely the drivers of a grey minibus and a tractor that were on the A163 at the time would have seen the motorbike before it crashed.

He said: "I urge you to come forward straight away as you may have vital information that could progress my investigation."
