Goathland 'smallest' fire station in world record bid

Help

Volunteer firefighters in a North Yorkshire village are hoping to win a place in the record books as the brigade with the smallest fire station in the world.

The nine volunteers and one vehicle are based in a tiny garage in Goathland on the North York Moors.

The firefighters, who regularly deal with incidents such as moor fires and road traffic accidents, said they hoped their application to the Guinness Book of Records would put them them "on the map".
