North Yorkshire flood waters leave pair stranded in car

Firefighters had to rescue two people from their car after it got stuck in flood water near Ripon.

The man and woman became trapped in their car after Boroughbridge Road in Bishop Monkton flooded on Saturday afternoon.

Three fire crews attended and officers waded through the water to rescue the pair.

A sheep stranded on a ledge above the River Nidd was also rescued when crews from Knaresborough lifted it to safety.
