Schoolboy dies after A64 collision
A 12-year-old boy has died after he was involved in an accident on the A64 in North Yorkshire.
Police said the boy was crossing the road to get the bus to school when the collision happened.
A Renault Scenic and a white van were involved in the incident, which happened at about 0740 GMT on Monday on the A64 at West Heslerton.
He was taken to Scarborough General Hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.
Sgt John Clayton, of North Yorkshire Police's road policing group, said: "I am urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to come forward.
"In particular I need to speak to the drivers of two vehicles which passed through the scene a few moments after it occurred, and ask them to contact me as soon as possible."
