Roads in North Yorkshire reopen after snowfall
Roads in parts of North Yorkshire have reopened, after snowfall led to disruption for motorists and saw some roads blocked because of accidents.
The A170 at Sutton Bank was closed on Thursday and drivers were being diverted through Coxwold.
Further along the A170 falling snow and icy conditions between Kirkbymoorside and Scarborough made driving difficult.
The A64 near Malton was down to one lane. Police are continuing to warn drivers about hazardous conditions.
Staxton Bank was closed in both directions after a lorry jack-knifed and several cars were stuck in what were described as treacherous conditions.
A number of schools across the north-east of the county were closed because of the wintry weather.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the force had attended 34 incidents on the roads, but nobody had been seriously injured.
