Appeal to driver after biker killed in Broughton crash

Police investigating a crash in North Yorkshire in which a motorcyclist died are appealing for the driver of a red saloon car to contact them.

Stephen Summers, 55, of Keighley, West Yorkshire, died shortly after his bike was involved in a collision with a Ford Mondeo on 8 November.

The 32-year-old Mondeo driver was arrested over the incident. He has been bailed while inquiries continue.

Police believe the saloon driver might have witnessed the collision.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the red car was travelling along the A59 towards Skipton from the direction of the Lancashire border.

It was driving between two lorries just before the crash at 0515 GMT, and slowed down at the time of the collision.
