West Yorkshire motorcycle deaths arrests: five bailed

Five men arrested in raids across West Yorkshire after the deaths of a couple in a motorcycle crash have been released on bail, police have said.

Dean and Helen Slater, from Thornton, Bradford, died when their motorbike collided with a car on the A162 in North Yorkshire on 25 August.

The men, all from the Bradford area, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police said the men, aged 25 to 36, had been released as inquiries continued.

Mr and Mrs Slater, originally from Morley, Leeds, were travelling in a group of six motorcycles when the crash happened between Tadcaster and Sherburn in Elmet.

Mr Slater, 40, and Mrs Slater, 37, who was the pillion passenger, were thrown from their bike and died instantly.
