Scarborough man found dead in Zest bar cellar

A 36-year-old man has been found dead in the cellar of a bar in Scarborough, police have said.

The body of James Teasdale, of Mayville Avenue in the resort, was discovered on Wednesday afternoon at the Zest Bar in St Thomas Street.

Police said they were treating his death as "unexplained" and an investigation was continuing.

The bar was cordoned off while police carried out forensic examinations of the property.

The inquest into his death is not expected to open and adjourn for at least a week, police said.
