Gas restored for Calne homes after ruptured pipe affected 600

A handful of homes in Wiltshire are still without a gas supply after a pipe ruptured.

Wales and West Utilities said engineers had restored gas to more than 600 homes in the Calne area following the rupture on Sunday evening, but about 17 homes were still affected.

A spokesman said repairs to a damaged pas pipe were due to be finished later on Tuesday.

The A3102 remains closed while workmen carry out the work.
