Swindon murder arrests after attack victim Grzegorz Beyer dies

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was fatally assaulted in Swindon town centre.

Grzegorz Beyer, 40, died two days after he was assaulted by a "number of people" near a water fountain in the early hours of Monday.

The two men, aged 27 and 29 and both Polish nationals, are being held in custody at Gablecross Police Station, police said.

Both have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted robbery.

He died on Wednesday evening at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Wiltshire Police said Mr Beyer's family have been informed of this development.

His family described him as a "loving husband, father and son" and said they were "completely devastated".
