Savernake Forest tree crash driver named as Max Pearson

A 21-year-old man who died when the car he was driving hit a tree in Savernake Forest in Wiltshire has been named by police.

The Renault Clio left Grand Avenue, a private road in the forest, and crashed into a tree at 5.40 GMT on Sunday.

Max Pearson, 21, from Marlborough, was pronounced dead at the scene and three passengers in the car were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A fourth passenger suffered minor injuries, Wiltshire Police said.

The road was closed for several hours for police to investigate. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police.
