Swindon man, 91, dies after being hit by car on pedestrian crossing

An elderly man who was knocked down by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Swindon has died in hospital.

The 91-year-old was using the crossing in Queen's Drive at about 09:20 GMT on Monday when he was hit by the blue Ford Focus.

He was taken to the Great Western Hospital with serious head injuries but died on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the car was not injured and remained at the scene to help police with their inquiries.

Officers are asking for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
