Derek Hancock denies killing Robert Cox in Bristol

A 41-year-old man has denied stabbing to death another resident at a home for vulnerable people with mental health issues in Bristol.

Derek Hancock pleaded not guilty to killing 24-year-old Robert Cox in Egerton Road, Bishopston, on 9 August.

Hancock entered his plea during a brief hearing at Bristol Crown Court when he appeared by videolink from HMP Bristol.

He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on 6 January. A trial is due to begin on 20 January.
