Devizes man charged after van set alight

A 35-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a van was set alight on a petrol station forecourt in Wiltshire.

The vehicle, which had two men inside, was set alight on the forecourt of the Esso garage on Bath Road, Devizes shortly after 19:00 BST on Friday.

Russell Osborne from Waiblingen Way, Devizes, also faces one count of arson with intent to endanger life.

Mr Osborne is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court later.

Two men in their 20s who were in the van at the time managed to put the fire out before firefighters arrived.
