Melksham man in court charged with wife's murder

A Wiltshire man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife.

Richard Newton, 51, was arrested after the body of Suzanne Bavette Newton, 45, was found at a house in the Bowerhill area of Melksham on 13 January.

Mr Newton, of Barnes Wallis Close, was remanded in custody until 2 April when he will return to Bristol Crown Court for a plea hearing.

Mrs Newton, a keen horse rider, was employed by a Calne-based recruitment agency.
