Swindon councillors call for ban on egg sales to youths

Two councillors in Swindon are calling for a ban on the sale of eggs to groups of teenagers following a spate of attacks over the past few weeks.

Swindon Borough Council will debate how to restrict supplies at a full council meeting on Thursday.

The motion was proposed and seconded by Conservative councillors Dale Heenan and Richard Hurley following complaints from residents in Covingham and Linden.

Mr Heenan said egg throwing was "mindless behaviour".
