Memorial for Wiltshire police officer
A service has been held in memory of a Wiltshire police officer who was killed in a crash while responding to a call to help his colleagues.
Pc Daniel Cooper, 22, died at the scene of the accident near Bradford-on-Avon on 1 February last year.
The service took place at Trowbridge Police station on Tuesday, the first anniversary of his death.
Andrew Cooper, Pc Cooper's father, said: "He shared his big kind heart and his love with us for 22 years."
'Dedicated and loyal'
The service, led by Wiltshire Police chaplain Richard Armitage, was attended by Pc Cooper's family, friends and colleagues.
Mr Cooper paid tribute to his son.
"We miss Dan terribly, his smile, his sense of humour, his very presence," he said.
"Dan's death has left a massive void in our lives and some days it is hard to find strength but somehow we do.
"We are proud of all Dan's achievements and especially privileged to have shared his life.
"He was a dedicated, loyal police officer who gained the respect of all those he came into contact with."
Pc Cooper's family are organising a charity evening in his memory on 12 February at Wellington Barn, near Calne.
