Man dies in road crash when car hits tree in Wiltshire

A man has died after the car he was travelling in hit a tree in Wiltshire.

Emergency services were called just after 2300 GMT to the incident on the unclassified road by Oaksey Wood near the village of Crudwell.

The man, 20, from Cirencester, suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.

The 21-year-old male driver, also from Cirencester, remains in a stable condition in the Great Western Hospital with head and internal injuries.

The road was closed for four hours while police dealt with the accident.

Police thanked members of the public who stopped to help the emergency services and ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
