Robbers steal handbags from Ladbrokes staff in Swindon

Staff at a betting shop in Swindon were threatened by robbers who made off with their handbags.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said two men had entered Ladbrokes on Thames Avenue with scarves over their faces and their hoods up.

He said they had fled towards fields at the rear of the Ship and Dagger pub. One is believed to have been carrying a red ski pole.

The robbery happened at about 1735 GMT on Friday. Nobody was injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
