Police appeal after two firework attacks in Swindon

Police in Swindon are appealing for witnesses after ignited fireworks were pushed through two letterboxes.

The arson attempts happened on bonfire night in the Sedgebrook area of Lidon.

Detective constable Mark Hutchinson said that whoever carried out the attack risked serious injury to themselves and others.

He said: "It's unfortunate that some people spoil the festivities by using fireworks as weapons to torment the general public".

Although no one was hurt in the attacks he said the affect of the incidents on the public was significant.

Anyone with information should contact Swindon police.
