Three arrested after separate Swindon stabbings

Three people have been arrested after two men were stabbed in separate incidents in Swindon.

The first incident happened outside BHS on Regent Street at about 1040 GMT on Tuesday.

Later, officers were called to the second stabbing in Manchester Road soon after 2115 GMT.

Both victims were taken to hospital. Two men were arrested in connection with the first incident and have been released on police bail.

A 47-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the second incident and remains in custody.

A police spokesman said the second victim was in the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery at the Great Western Hospital.
