More funding for Swindon workplace well-being group

A group in Swindon that helps employers deal with mental health issues in the workplace has been given a further three years of funding.

Swindon Mindful Employer Network helps companies to spot problems like stress and depression and help staff stay at work while they deal with their issues.

The extended funding is being put forward by NHS Swindon.

It said the group had made considerable achievements in changing attitudes to mental health in the workplace.

Swindon Mindful Employer Network project leader David Latham said: "We believe that there is an increasing need to support employers on well-being issues which helps grow their businesses even in difficult economic times.

"The private and public sectors have enormous challenges ahead and their staff require a greater degree of emotional resilience in tackling major changes and developments.

"Mental health is key to the success of any enterprise."
