Wiltshire to be 'cleaned up by offenders'

Unkempt areas in Wiltshire are to be cleaned up by offenders on Community Payback.

Community groups and parish councils will supply the materials while the people carrying out the work will be supervised.

Community Payback is essentially the replacement for Community Service and could include work like clearing undergrowth or removing graffiti.

People can nominate areas to be cleaned up by contacting Wiltshire Council.

Courts are given the power to sentence offenders of certain crimes to undertake between 40 and 300 hours of Community Payback.
