Rock band Status Quo have filmed the video for a new version of one of their hits at an army barracks in Wiltshire.

All proceeds from re-recording In The Army Now will go to the charities, the British Forces Foundation and Help For Heroes.

The group visited the Bulford base to record the video with 4 Rifles.

The song, which was originally released in 1986 and reached number two in the charts, has been reworked and features the Corps of Army Music.

The band's Francis Rossi said: "It seemed like the right time to do this.

"The release is intended to show our support for allied forces around the world, but in particular, of course, the British armed forces.

"We want people to celebrate what they do, say thank you and also support this vital charity."

Colleague Rick Parfitt added: "We've even roped in the Army to create a stunning video that will really give the song some heavy firepower.

"We'll also be lobbying the Government to waive VAT on the single."

The song is due for release in September.
