Teenage boy hurt in Sunderland car park plunge

A teenager is recovering in hospital after falling almost 60ft (18m) from a car park in Sunderland.

The boy, who has not been named, fell from the city's four storey Bridges car park on Saturday evening.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering chest injuries and cuts and bruises.

Fire officers believe the youth had been with others who had tried to jump from the car park to the roof of a building below.
