Tweedmouth cyclist George Eyre dies in collision with car

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car in Northumberland.

George Eyre, 62 and from Tweedmouth, was struck by the vehicle at the town's Northumberland Road roundabout on Monday at 16:15 BST.

He was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary by air ambulance with serious injuries but was later pronounced dead.

Officers carrying out enquiries into the collision are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
