Shildon stabbing: Man held on suspicion of attempted murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 44-year-old was stabbed in County Durham.

The victim was found at a house in Oaklea, Shildon, shortly after 14:00 BST on Sunday following reports a man had been stabbed several times.

A 49-year-old man is in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Durham Police said the victim, who is in a stable condition in hospital, is believed to have been attacked at a different address in Shildon.
