Black Friday: Middlesbrough man held over Tesco 'hack'
A man has been arrested over alleged web offences against Tesco.
The 28-year-old from Middlesbrough was held after the supermarket found someone trying to hack its website.
The Met said it is investigating a technique known as "diagonal brute forcing" in which details stolen from previous hacks are used again.
No customer or financial details were obtained. Police are warning shoppers to use different passwords for their online Black Friday shopping.
Tesco said it had acted swiftly to alert authorities after its security systems identified "some irregular activity".
