A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a doorman was shot in Newcastle.

He was injured as he stood at the door of Tup Tup Palace in the city's St Nicholas Street, just after 22:30 BST on Saturday.

Northumbria Police said the gunman fled the scene on a silver motorbike.
