East Rainton fatal crash woman named as Dolores Hubbert

An 81-year-old woman killed in a car crash in Sunderland has been named.

Dolores Hubbert died after her Nissan Micra collided with a Toyota Yaris on the A690 at East Rainton, Houghton-le-Spring, at about 12:10 BST on Friday.

The driver of the other car was not injured, Northumbria Police said. The road was closed for three hours.

The family of Mrs Hubbert, of Houghton-le-Spring, said she was a "highly respected" member of the community and "well loved" by her family.
