Gateshead family pay tribute to 'best dad in the world'
The family of a Gateshead man killed as he got out of a taxi have paid tribute to "the best dad in the world".
Myles Turnbull was getting out of the taxi at about 02:00 GMT on Monday when it is thought he was struck by another vehicle.
The 41-year-old died in the incident on Dunston Road, Gateshead.
A 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail.
In a statement, his family said: "Myles was a family man with three sons - Cameron, 20, Kieran, 16, and John, 13 - and he was a happy-go-lucky lad."
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Turnbull's death and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
