Tyne and Wear Metro The Musical video

BBC Newcastle celebrated 30 years of the Tyne and Wear Metro by creating a musical.

The Tyne and Wear Metro - The Musical project took six months to complete, from auditioning the best local talent to filming Rapper Sword Dancers dancing inside a metro train.

The project, created and directed by Benjamin Till, celebrates 30 years of the region's train service.

Filming took place across Tyneside and Wearside in some unusual locations.

It starred amateur and professional musicians and singers from across the north-east of England.

The musical's premier was broadcast on BBC Look North on 24 March.

All for charity

Tyne and Wear Metro - The Musical was released on DVD to help raise funds for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.
