Pair arrested over Gateshead airgun attack
Two men have been arrested in connection with an airgun attack on Tyneside which left a 15-year-old boy with facial injuries.
The teenager was hit as he walked near Gateshead Stadium on Friday evening.
Northumbria Police are linking the attack with at least three other reports of a weapon being brandished in the Gateshead area on the same night.
A force spokesman said two local men, aged 21 and 18, had been arrested and were being questioned by detectives.
The spokesman said the 15-year-old's injuries were not life-threatening.
