Man, 29, charged over Northumberland stab murder

A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was found stabbed in a Northumberland town.

Emergency services went to the Co-op in The Square, Guide Post, Ashington, shortly before 1100 GMT on Sunday.

The man, aged 28, died after being taken to Wansbeck hospital. Post-mortem results revealed he died from stab wounds.

Two women aged 58 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The charged man will appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
