Man found badly hurt in Northumberland town dies


A man has died after being found with serious injuries in a Northumberland town.

Emergency services went to the Co-op in The Square, Guidepost, Ashington, shortly before 1100 GMT following reports a man had been injured.

The man was taken to Wansbeck Hospital but he died there soon afterwards.

Two local men, aged 27 and 29, have been arrested, a Northumbria Police spokeswoman said. The road near the scene was closed for inquiries.
